My name is Karen Baker, I help people heal from trauma so they can reclaim their lives and feel a sense of safety and peace—without being trapped by the past.

My clients struggle as you do. Despite being resilient, resourceful, and capable, the weight of their experiences feels impossible to carry alone. When they first come in, they’re haunted by intrusive memories, nightmares, or flashbacks that make it hard to focus or feel present. They often feel on edge, like they’re always waiting for the other shoe to drop. The smallest triggers can send them spiraling into fear, anger, or numbness.

They avoid people, places, or situations that remind them of their trauma, even when it limits their ability to fully engage in life. The constant effort to stay “okay” is exhausting, leaving little room for joy or connection.

They wrestle with guilt, shame, or a deep sense of failure, feeling like they should “be over it” by now. They may struggle with relationships, finding it hard to trust or feel truly close to others.

Their trauma gets in the way of the life they want. They’re not the partner, friend, or parent they strive to be. They feel stuck in cycles of survival, unable to experience the ease and freedom they long for.

Before they came to see me, they worried therapy would force them to relive their trauma without offering real relief. They feared being judged for their struggles or feeling broken beyond repair. And they were pretty certain nothing could truly help them feel whole again.

Living with unprocessed trauma is exhausting and isolating, leaving them feeling stuck, alone, and unsure of how to move forward.
